This Thanksgiving Holiday wasn't as eventful as previous years as most of the time I just stayed home and sat around doing nothing of importance. Other times I was on the lookout for a deal on items that had brought an interest to me. My family also forgot to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade this year. In the end, I bought a new laptop and a new wireless mouse which made me satisfied with what I had acquired. We didn't have any family come over from far away places since most of them live in China and my grandparents were already living with us for a period of time. Overall the time was great and it was a good way to relax from school.
During Thanksgiving, we had to have some type of special feast. So we gathered around for Thanksgiving lunch which consisted of hot pot, fish, dumplings and some other small treats. Since I ate so many dumplings, I got full pretty quick. For dinner we just had some leftovers and a type of sweet rice-bean soup. On Black Friday we just had your typical dinner with nothing special.
Also on Black Friday, we didn't go shopping too much as we had did all of it online. So in the afternoon we still had energy and went hiking on a trail(s) near the Potomac River. Everyone had the same idea of going hiking so the parking lot was filled with people trying to find a parking space or trying to leave the area. We eventually got a spot and went hiking on a trail that almost brought us to the highway 495. Then we headed in another direction to get to the edge of the state and extremely close to the river. We went in a entire circle and saw a waterfall along the way. The entire hiking trip took about 1.5 hours to complete as it was about 3 o'clock when we were done.
The rest of the weekend would be like any other weekend except that there would be no activities to participate in because they were all closed for the holidays. Can't wait till Christmas and the New Year!
