New Year's Celebration Party

Did you ever celebrate the new year with a party? Well I do, but this year I did it a little early. Instead of celebrating it after the new year or o the new year we celebrated it on 12/28 (Also my mom's birthday). There were many kids at the party ( Around 16) and we played many things.

First we played with electronics.  Some kids were allowed to bring their iPod or their iPad so we played Minecraft. I connected with other players so that we could play together. I invited other people to my world so they could help me. It was my first time playing multi player so I accidentally got so excited that I started to kill everybody. Soon the adults said we couldn't play with electronics so all of the kids went outside.

We played basketball outside. My team was winning till I got bored and started to do something else. I took a scooter and rode it down the host's driveway. A lot of people saw me and started doing it too. Soon it became a race. The first person who reaches the end of the driveway wins the race. We kept on doing that until we had to eat dinner.

When it was dinner time we saw a lot of delicious food. I saw steak, dumplings and noodles. I ate a lot of dumplings, 6 pieces of steak and some noodles. After dinner us kids just went to play more. We played until 11:45 P.M. and were really tired once we were home.

Going to an Art Class

I love drawing, so today I went to an art class where people draw pictures using a lot of different techniques. Some beginners were using markers while the really advanced people were doing acrylic. I was to good for the beginners but I couldn't draw as good as the advanced people so I ended up drawing and shading 3-D figures.

Since I just started I wasn't going to do really hard things such as tables, chairs or even bottles. I had to chose something easy like drawing 3-D figures. I drew a picture with a cube, cylinder and a pyramid. They looked really easy but they were actually really hard. You had to master the hand position, shading detail and shape rotation.  The teachers helped me correct my hand position so I could shade better and make the shapes look more straight.

Finally after I finished drawing the outline of the shapes I had to start shading.  There were so many pencils to chose from. Some of them were really light while others were really dark. I used B and 2B because those pencils were the exact darkness of  the picture. You have to shade in one direction so you don't make the shading look messy. After I shaded my picture it looked pretty good with darkness on one side and light on the other side.

Bolt (2008)

Bolt is a movie about a dog who thinks he has super powers. He is working for a TV show company but he doesn't have a clue that everything is fake and his powers are actually made by computer programming. One day they make a episode about Bolt's owner getting captured. He goes out to save his owner but eventually he gets lost in the countryside.

While he is roaming the countryside he meets a cat and a hamster who always stays in his plastic ball. The cat's name is Mittens and the hamster's name is Rhino. They help him realize that his life was a fake and they tried to help him become a real dog by playing games with him and teaching him ways to beg. Soon the TV company found out that Bolt escaped so they found a new dog to do the show.

One day Bolt goes back to the TV company and saw that his owner liked a different dog so he got sad and walked away. The crew was filming a episode but then suddenly fire was every where. Everyone was evacuated but Bolt's owner. Bolt rushed into the building and saved his owner from dying by barking loud enough so the fire crew could here him and rescue them both. Soon his owner quit the job and lived happily after ever with Bolt and his friends.

Christmas 2013

Have you ever went to your relatives' house for the holidays? Well I went to my cousin's house for 3 days of winter break. We had a party, celebrated Christmas and I got a really bad injury.

On Christmas Eve, my uncle, cousin and I went to play basketball. It was my cousin and I vs. my uncle. We were losing by a few points but we made a lot of baskets as well. When I was going to steal the ball my uncle accidentally bumped into me and I landed face first on the blacktop. My lips were bleeding, some of the skin on my face was ripped off, my knees were bleeding and there were some openings of blood on my hands. We had to stop the game and go home. My parents helped me clean myself and stop the bleeding. Today I still have blood stains but I feel way better than 2 days ago.

On Christmas day the first thing I did was go downstairs to look at my presents. I got a Speedo backpack and a North Face hoodie. Now that I had a real swimming backpack I could use it instead of some random bag I found around my house. Also I immediately wore my North Face hoodie because it was my first ever North Face item! My sister got Color Splasherz and some Nike shirts. Soon we had to get ready for a party.

My cousin's family had planed to have a party on Christmas. They said they were only going to invite 2 families but they ended up inviting 4-5 families. Some of the families had kids and some didn't. All of the kids who came were younger than me but we still could play games together. First we played Hide and Seek. I was always the last one to be found because I was a good hider. Then we played Hot and Cold. One person hid a ball and the others had to find it. The hider would have to give clues to the seekers by saying if they were hot or cold. After that we just watched my cousin's iPad and they went home shortly.

It was a good visit but for future visits, I should try to avoid getting injured.

Houses

Humans are probably the most intelligent beings on the planet. That is why we have the best houses on the planet. Animals' planets aren't sanitary or as efficient as ours. Not only that but us humans can make sturdy houses out of cardboard rolls (the cylinder things on inside the layers of toilet paper) and adapt to our environment quickly.

Recently I saw a video about an architect describe how strong cardboard rolls are. He says they are sturdy, waterproof and can be fireproof sometimes too. He uses the cardboard rolls to build emergency shelters, churches and camps. Sometimes people think he is crazy because he is using such a common and random thing to build buildings. But after he shows the people what he has done and they are amazed of what he built. He often wants to help society so he goes to a country that had recently had a large natural disaster and builds camps out of cardboard so they can be easy to take down once everything is repaired.

Another thing that makes us the smartest being on the planet is that we can adapt to any environment as long as we have materials. One place in China the land is scarce so some people just made an under ground village. Then more people started to join in and soon the whole city was probably living 7 meters under the ground. In Africa there is this town that lives on water. People travel around in boats and have shops in boats. Sometimes sellers row house to house selling things that people need. Public space is scarce so they have a floating school that is like a city hall. Finally I will tell you about an abandoned tower. It was a originally supposed to be a commercial building but then the person who had the ideas died and the plan was abandoned. Soon people started moving in and it became a 42 story high apartment building. All you need to do is find so curtains to make a rectangle and customize your house.

Humans have the knowledge and power to build and create things. But to make rare and awesome things you need creativity.           

New Inventions

What would it be like if we had technology so good that we made inventions we couldn't possibly think of? Well using our current technology today people have made things like interactive paper, cars and other things that are controlled by motion sensors, and wireless controls.

If we had the best technology every person could think of life would be really easy and we could be driving flyable cars. Sadly we don't have that kind of money,equipment or technology to have that. Instead us human beings are most likely the smartest living things on Earth. Since we can be creative and invent, many people hack or take parts out of another thing so the can install it on something else to help their life.

For instance during 2010 the X-Box Kinect was released. It wasn't really sensitive for some people so many people hacked the Kinect and attached it to things like carts, cars and other things with wheels. When they did that it should have made their life a whole lot easier. Lets say that someone installed a Kinect on a wheel chair. You were on one side of the room and the chair was on  the other. If you could just wave or do something it could recognize you and will come over to you. That will save you a whole  lot of time of walking to that side of the room and coming back with the chair.

Also people can invent things using creativity. I recently saw a video about a person who made interactive paper. The paper was connected to the person's iPhone with Bluetooth 4 so the response was fast. One poster they made was your favorite cake.  You just touch you favorite flavors and frosting by just touching the paper.  After you made your choices you will get an email about a recommendation of a type of cake you should like. Also they made music instruments on paper as well. They made a DJ station and a piano on paper. You just touch the icon and sounds will come out.

We have made a lot of progress in technology but we still are far from finished. Who knows what will be next???  

My Winter Concert Day

What would it feel like if you have to perform in a concert three times in one day? Well I recently did that and by the end of the day I sang eighteen songs, played my flute six times and had to listen to twelve more songs during that day. When I got home after all the concerts I had heard enough music for one day. We had a concert in the morning, afternoon and in the evening.

When I just got to  school everybody was getting their instruments ready so we could began the concert. First the orchestra played (violin,cello,viola etc.) three songs so we could enter the stage. When the band (woodwind,brass,percussion etc.) played their first song (Spinning Game) all the flutes(including me) had to go stand in front of the audience and play the song by ourselves because we took up most of the song. When we finished that song we sat back down and played a Christmas song that was made out of other Christmas songs. Then the saxophones played their song called "Old Saint Nick".

After band played finished playing their songs everybody had to sing. We sang six songs during that concert. First we sang the national anthem "Star Spangled Banner".Every kid had to stand up and show respect to our flag while we sang the song. Then we sang a round called "Lift Up Your Voices". A round is when parts of a group sing the same song but at different times so no group will sing the same part as an another group.

We sang some random songs and then sang a Christmas song. We sang "Jingle Bell Rock" for our final song.

   

The next two concerts were the same except on the evening concert we were in front of parents and a lot more people. From this day on I will never join chorus again if it is a choice.

How to Use a Snow Boogie Board

Have you ever used a Snow Boogie Board? Well if you don't know what it is,it's a Boogie Board that you use on snow. Instead of using a sled you can use this instead. These Boogie Boards are manufactured  WHAM-O!and are really fun to use.They are lighter than normal sleds so when you climb up the hill it will be easier.

When you start of using the Boogie Board you probably have no idea how to use it.You can ether jump from the beginning to power you or start on the ground. You grab the handles of the Boogie Board and put your knees down.Then put your knees above your butt and you should start to go down the hill.

After you mastered starting from the ground you should try the to start with jumping.You should wear gloves just in case if you get you hands hurt. Hold on to the handles of the board and bend your knees. When you have enough courage you jump and slide down your hill.

Always wear a hat, coat, gloves and skiing pants (if you have any) to protect you. Remember you can start jumping or going from the ground. 

Playing in the "Winter Wonderland"

Today it snowed heavily and everything outside was white. I got to play with my friends. While we played together,we played football, ran around the playground trying not to slip and finally went sledding on a hill.

When I finished my lunch I saw my friends outside. I asked my parents if I could go outside and play with them and they agreed. When I just got outside we played football. Football in the snow is safer than regular football. If you fall down, there is snow to decrease the impact you take from falling. But the bad thing is you sink in the snow and you will become slower than usual. We had to play two hand touch because on of my friend's parents didn't approve of tackling.

After we got bored playing football two of my friends left so I went to get some of my other friends. We went to the park to find something else to do. We went on slides that had snow on them. When you were on the slide you feel like you are in a avalanche. Also when you were on the equipment it would be slippery and you could fall. One of my friends pretended he was an ice skater but ended up falling on his butt. Soon we all had a good idea to go sledding.

My friends brought their sleds but everyone just used these snow boogie boards. I learned how to use the boards really quickly. Occasionally I get snow all over my face when I slide down the hill we named Cluffy. We had a race and I ended up second because one of my friends went ahead of everybody.We did that again and again until we had to leave.

We threw a football, played in our playground and went sledding. What a WONDERFUL DAY!!! 

My GT/Magnet Middle School Test

When do you feel like you have a lot of pressure on you? Well I had a lot of pressure on me when I was taking my middle school test. When I got inside the school I was in a group to take 4 tests. I took the tests in this order, Raven/Logic, Reading, Writing and Math.

I got two raven test packets when I just entered the testing room. One was a green book and the other was a blue book. The green book wasn't graded because it was just to get you used to the problems on the test. When I finished the green book we were told to stop. This test was sort of like the MSA(Maryland State Assessment). When I did the blue book it started easy but it got harder every question. Eventually it got so hard that I had to guess the last question.

After I finished the raven test we had to move on to the reading comprehension test. It was all multiple choice so it was easy. We had to read informational text and answer questions. The text gave me new information that I didn't know. Some questions were confusing so I had to go back and check the text again. I had to write an essay for the writing part of the test (if you want to see it Click Here). We had to extend time for this part of the test because so many people needed extra paper to write their essay.

Then it was time for math. We had 20 min. for 50 questions. Some people felt rushed because we only had 20 min. If you wanted to do all the questions on time you would have to do 2.5 questions per minute. I finished all the questions and had time to double check my answers. Some questions were easy while others took more time to solve. The questions asked you to find which column was greater. You chose A if column A was greater, B if column B was greater, C if both columns were equal and D if there wasn't enough information given.

I finished the test that included, Raven, Math , Reading and Writing.

What I Wrote at the GT Magnet Middle School Test

When I was taking my middle school test today this was the prompt for my essay (or something like this): What goals do you have? Why is it a worthy goal? Below is how I responded.

My goal is to become an inventor. I can invent things to help mankind and make life easier.

This is a worthy goal because I can help other to complete their goals. Don't you feel great when you help others? Well if I make an invention and it becomes useful, a lot of people will use it and it will make their life easier all because I invented it.

When I invent something I will make it so that it will help the common good. I could invent a robot that helps the elderly and disabled. It can help carry the elderly and get things without the person bending down. Also it can help disabled people. If a person is blind, the robot will have earphones attached to it and it will tell the person where to go. If a person is mute, then the person can type what they want to say. And finally a person that is deaf can take a device and put it to the person that is talking and then the person having the device can read the text.

I want invent things to make peoples lives easier. I could invent a device that helps a construction worker. It gives the worker instructions on what to build and caution notes when the worker can be in danger. Also I could invent goggles that tell a swimmer what their rank is. Swimmers aren't aware of their rank until the finish the race. You could program the goggles to a board that has the rankings so the swimmers can try harder to get in first.

When I invent things I will make them useful and better for mankind.

Benjamin Franklin

Ben Franklin was one of the greatest Founding Fathers of all time. He signed and edited the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and wrote an almanac called Poor Richard's Almanac. He also got a successful career in printing newspaper. Also he invented many things like lights and hospitals.

When America had just won the Revolutionary War we had a bad government. People had to create the Constitution to organize and create a better country. Ben Franklin was one of those people who revised, edited and signed the constitution. He sign the constitution even though he wasn't completely satisfied with it.

Ben Franklin was also an inventor. He invented many things such as bifocals, the Franklin stove and swimming. He also extracted energy from lightning to power many things. Some useful inventions we still use today are lightning rods,lights and hospitals.

Here are some fun facts of Ben Franklin. When America had shortage of coin money Ben Franklin was hired to print paper money. Instead of the bald eagle he wanted the turkey to be the national bird. Unlike other founding fathers he didn't wear a wig. He published Poor Richard's Almanac under an fake identity as a poor man named Richard.

Ben Franklin was amazing man who invented things,helped America become a better country and did random things to help America.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was an amazing man who brought new ideas to our world. His inventions (such as the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad)affected many people by making their life better.

When he invented the Mac (also known as the Macintosh), it was based on it's own software, not Windows. It gave some people thought that they can change the world with new inventions. His other inventions such as the iPhone were also successful. Who knew that when Jobs put a computer into a phone, it would change the whole world. Soon the iPhone was so successful that it influenced other people to make devices like tablets and smart TV's.

Jobs inventions changed the world. Many people these days rely on his inventions to help them strive. Without him, people wouldn't have been creative and made apps like Facetime or iTunes. His inventions also affected me. I own an iPod and I treat it like treasure. It has a ton of fun games to play on it and I can listen to music anytime. Steve Jobs was a great man but he died on 10/5/11. When he died Apple had just introduced the new iPhone one day before.Who know what else will change the world???

My Fail Thanksgiving

       Usually you have a cheerful Thanksgiving, you know, where you go to parties and have feasts? Well this Thanksgiving was the worst one (so far) in my life!

       In the morning I had to take a test! There were 150 questions and it was one of those middle school Scan tron sheet tests too! It was all really hard because it was preparation for my upcoming Magnet School Program coming up on December 7th. I have to study really hard to get into the program. When I finished my test that was all I did for the morning.

      Then after I had lunch, I had to review my test with my dad. I had to look at all the questions I got wrong and do them again. After that, I had to review some of my packets of questions that I already did. When I finished I was in total misery. Nothing excited happened in my life on this holiday!

      Soon I had dinner, my mom had mad garlic bread, sesame bread, jellyfish with cucumbers and other yummy things to eat. I enjoyed this time while I could so I could be gleeful. Then after diner I was allowed to watch TV. The bad thing was that I had to go to sleep at 8:30 P.M.!!! I watched Big Bang Theory and went to sleep.

    What a bad, uneventful,disgraceful and sad Thanksgiving for me!
  

The Thanksgiving Phantom

     Once upon a time in a far away land (probably across the world) there was a family who celebrated Thanksgiving. They were the only family in the country to celebrate Thanksgiving. Usually people would come to their house and destroy their property when they weren't home. Everybody tried to persuade that family to stop celebrating Thanksgiving but it was no use. Every year the kept roasting a turkey and continue celebrating the Thanksgiving ways. Then came the Thanksgiving phantom...

     Starting from last year(this is all fake) there was a Thanksgiving phantom who gave everybody turkey and pumpkin pie. That was when people were starting to doubt that they shouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving. Soon the whole country broke out into a all out war. The war was used to decide that ether they celebrate Thanksgiving. There were the "Thankers" (people who wanted Thanksgiving) and the No No No Not Todays (people who didn't want Thanksgiving). There were many lives taken and the Thankers were losing. Then the Thanksgiving phantom came and threw everything he had to continue Thanksgiving. Soon the Thankers won many battles and won the war.

     Starting from that year on the country celebrated every Thanksgiving with joy and forgot about the past of Thanksgiving.

The Bat Who Couldn't Fly

    Once, there was a bat who couldn't fly so he stood out from the other bats. He and group of bats lived in a cave with tons of coal and iron. One night a group of miners came to the cave when the bats were outside flying. But no one noticed the little bat who couldn't fly.The miners blew up the whole cave and mined all iron and coal. Luckily the little bat survived the bombing and escaped into the city. Soon the other bats came back and saw their cave blown up so they migrated somewhere else to live. The little bat lived on a light and practiced flying. But usually ended up hurt himself on the sidewalk. He kept practicing not matter what so he could master flying. One night a miracle happened. He could actually fly! The little bat got overjoyed and went of to find his group of bats he lived with. When he found his group he showed them he could fly. First the bats were confused but then they realized that it was the little bat that couldn't fly. They were amazed by how he could learn things so quickly. Soon the lived happily after ever.

Moral: Practice makes perfect!

Germantown Swimming Pool

      Have you ever been to any kind of luxurious pool? Well my family went to this amazing pool ( my opinion) and saw some things my normal summer pool didn't have. It had a pool that went up to twenty ft., diving boards and water slides of all sizes.

      First when I entered the pool I couldn't play right away. I had to swim fifteen 50 meter laps. Ten freestyle and five breaststroke. There were two 50 meter pools, a shallow one about 3-4 inches deep, and there was a deep one about 6.5-20 feet deep. The shallow one was more crowded so we had to go to the deep pool. We entered a lane that was 9-10 inches deep. First when I entered I was scared, but then I got used to the depth and swam regularly. When I finished I just spotted a bunch of slides that I didn't notice earlier.

        I saw a the small slides and slid on them. They were very short and got boring after a while. Then I spotted two giant slides and walked toward the slides. To get on the slides you had to climb four flights of stairs. When I reached the top there was a line to go on the slide. When it was my turn to get on the slides I noticed there was one word on each of the slides. One slide was the Pipeliner, the other one was called the Scrambler. First I got on the Pipeliner. The Pipeliner was like a bunch of loops. When I came to the end I went to the other slide. When I got on the Scrambler it was just a bunch of turns. When I got to the end I thought that I would rather ride the Pipeliner that the Scrambler. Suddenly my dad came and told me to try the diving boards.

          I went toward the green diving boards and got nervous. I asked my dad that if I could use the lower one. He said yes so I got on the diving board and did a cannonball. When I came out my body felt pain so my dad told me you are only supposed to land with your head of your feet. So next I did a pencil dive. My body didn't hurt at all. Next my dad told me to pretend to dive like a racing dive. I tried several times and found out how to do it. I mastered the lower board but not the high one. When I got on the high one I did a pencil dive and my face felt weird. I got in the water with a splash. I dived a couple more times and went home.

         I went in a really deep pool, slid down water slides and jumped of diving boards.

Good Colleges

       Have you ever went to look at colleges? Well I did during my trip to Maine. I went to look at these colleges, Yale, M.I.T. ( Massachusetts Institution of Technology).

         My family and I first went to Yale. Tons of people in high school (or looked like) were taking tours about Yale because they probably want to learn a lot of info about an Ivy League school in case they get accepted into the school. They were taking pictures, writing notes and talking with each other. My family just took pictures of the enormous buildings with the school.

         The second college we went to was M.I.T. It was during the afternoon so it was crowded with people who were on tours. They were talking, laughing and being social. It was really noisy so we decided to walk away from the crowded place. one sculpture we went to was a hollow man that was hugging his legs. We could go inside him and get pictures taken of us in him. We walked around the building and saw some M.I.T. students. They all looked gloomy and serious. We just walked around the school trying to avoid them.

        Finally we saw ......................................... HARVARD! Ranked #1 in the country with Princeton. First we saw a man who jump over four people crouched down. I took a picture of him flipping in mid air, it was awesome. After that we went inside and saw a statue of a man the everybody tried to take pictures with. Everybody touched his left shoe. So many people touched it that it lost it's color. I didn't take a picture with the statue because I was scared and there were a lot of people. We strolled inside the school and left.

          I saw Yale, M.I.T. and Harvard during my trip to Maine!!!   

Why I Didn't Make the Divisonals and what I am Going to do about it.

   So I didn't make the Divisonals for the swim team. The Divisonals are a meet that the best people of each team in each division come and compete. It could be called a division finals to some people. I was about to get into the Divisonals for  breaststroke but suddenly Kyle beat me by 1 second so then I didn't make the Divisonals.

   To get in the Divisonals next year I am going to train hard when I go to the pool. I would swim IMs so I could practice each stroke while swimming one thing. In freestyle I want to breathe quicker and kick faster. In backstroke I want to get a faster kick and have faster arms. For breaststroke I just want to go a lot faster I was this year. And for butterfly I want to have a big kick and a small kick for each stroke. Do you have any goals for your swimming?

Relay Carnival Swim Meet 2013

       Do you like swimming relays?Well on 6/23/13 I went to a swim meet only for relays. I swam one event, breaststroke for the boys 9-10 IM relay. The order went like this, backstroke then breaststroke after that it was butterfly and finally it was freestyle. I was swimming with my really fast friends. Eric was doing backstroke, I did breaststroke, Kyle did butterfly and Alex did freestyle. We were racing all other teams in our division. Those teams had better older people but bad younger kids so our team mostly won every event in the relay carnival.

       When we had warm up it was the shortest warm up I ever had in my life. It was fifteen minutes long but it felt like five minutes in the water. All I did was an IM and a dive. One end was like a regular pool, but the deep end was thirteen feet deep. If you look above the water it may not look that deep but when you enter the water from the deep side it would look really deep. Thirteen feet is longer than the well at our local pool. Our pool only goes up to ten feet six inches.

       When the meet started it was the relays for the older kids (13-18). They were mostly IM so four people were on each team. The order was butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. We got first in a few events and suddenly we got a third place on an event. The same thing happened for a long time. Then it started to rain and it was almost my event so we had to wait for all the thunder and rain to stop.

      We had to wait for the rain to stop so we could resume swimming. We waited for about 30 minutes and we could resume. After the 8 and under girls Medley relay we started our event. First Eric sprinted backstroke, then I sprinted breaststroke,then Kyle sprinted butterfly and Alex finished it of with a sprint freestyle. When we were finished we were ahead from the 2nd place team by 25 meters.

     It was a really good Relay Carnival. Hopefully I get invited to more Relay Carnivals in the future!

Despicable Me 2

        One day when I came back from swimming practice I found out that my friend Daniel was going to watch Despicable Me 2 and I was invited. I went to Daniel's house to get ready to watch the movie. After we ate lunch we went to Regal Movie Theaters to watch Despicable Me 2. Soon I found out that we were watching it in 3D. 

     When we got in side the theater we had to watch a ton of advertisements. When I mean ton I mean like 20 advertisements. Once the movie started we wore our 3D glasses and I felt like everything in the movie was in front of my face.  This is the movie after Despicable Me. If you didn't watch the first movie you shouldn't watch the second movie. 

    It starts of at a girl's birthday party. Gru the dad has to be a princess fairy instead of the real one because he real one refuses to come to the party. The girl knows it's her dad but she pretends to be amazed so the other kids will believe the fairy is real. Soon the dad gets dragged away into a secret organization and has to work for them. He has to find a dangerous chemical that can destroy anything he has to go undercover at the mall and find who has the chemical and send them to jail.

    He works at a place called Make Your Own Cupcake in the mall so he can find the person who stole the destructive chemical. There was one guy Gru was very suspicious about. He owns a Mexican restaurant and he looked like a super villain that rode a shark into a volcano. Gru soon finds him self in a hair/wig shop and found the chemical. The boss thanks him for doing nothing and leaves him.

    Soon there was a Cinco Di Mayo party held by the owner of the Mexican restaurant. The owner went to a secret room that had a password so Gru was curious and followed. He got through all of the pass codes and found out he was a super villain. Since Gru found out he was villain he was going to kill him with minions he put chemicals on. But suddenly his children used jelly guns to turn them back to normal. Then Gru used a fart gun on the super villain. Then the super villain fainted and went to jail.

        Despicable Me 2 is a great movie. It is funny, has action and some romance. You should watch the movie too! 

My Field Trip to Flags Pond

     Ever had to go to school two hours early just for a field trip?  Well I had to do that on May 13, 2013. Two classes were going to Flags Pond that day. Mrs. Kirker's class, and Mrs. Wowk's class. It was our first time going on a luxury bus because on other field trips we had to ride a regular school bus. 

    On the bus we watched the movie Monsters Inc. I watched it two times before, once in school and once in a movie theater. It was about a monster city that was powered by children's screams. Monsters compete to see who is the top scarer. The two top scarers were Sullivan and a color changing chameleon. They both wanted to be the top. Sullivan was a blue bear that had horns. The chameleon was a cheater that hated mostly everyone. Sullivan suddenly finds a human kid. All monsters get freaked out when a human comes because they think they might kill them. Sullivan and his little pal Mikey try to stay undercover with the kid by making the kid a costume and calling her Boo. Soon the chameleon finds out and tries to stop them. He turned invisible and strangles Sullivan. Soon the kid finds the chameleon finds and pushes him of the rail. Then the monsters said bye to the kid and turned Monsters Inc. from scaring children to making children laugh. Then the movie stops.

   Once we got to Flags Pond we learned about the Chesapeake Bay in the past, present and future. We got to two places, the beach and the swamp. When I was on the beach my class and I got to do a scavenger hunt. I found most of the things on the list. A feather, a bone, a shell and five pieces of trash. I saw people putting waders on. Waders are waterproof pants connected to boots. Those other kids walked into the water and found things with a giant net. When it was my turn I put the waders on and went into the water. I couldn't fish with the net because we had no time. The water felt cold and the ground was squishy. We had to go back because it was lunch time. I sat with my friends and ate nacho Lunchables. After lunch I went to the swamp. We went fishing with dipping nets. My partners and I each had a dipping net. All I caught was a bunch of duckweed and some leaves. My partners caught a few bugs and duckweed. Soon it was time to go home.

   On the way back we watched The Lion King. I'm not going to talk about the movie because I guessed you already watched it. Me and my friend on the bus didn't want to watch the movie because it was so boring. Instead we played violent rock,paper, scissors shoot. You just play the regular game but if you win with rock you punch them, if you win with paper you slap them and if you win with scissors you stab them. We played for a while and got bored so we watched the movie. I kept wondering how the movie was rated G because there were to lions dead and a lot of fighting.

    Finally when I got of the bus it was 4:15. I came home very late with no homework. I still had a concert so I practiced and practiced until it was the concert.

My Spring Break

      What did you do during your spring break? Well I did tons of things during my spring break. I went to Washington D.C., played basketball and went to the park. Every time I woke up it was around 9:30-10:00.

     I went to Washington D.C. so my family and I could see the cherry blossom festival. When we got there no cherry blossom had flowers. We were all disappointed so we went to look at something else. First we went to see the George Mason memorial. I had no clue who George Mason was so I read a sign. It told me that George Mason was a person who wrote a declaration of independence for Virginia. Now I went to his statue made out of some kind of material. Next I went to the Jefferson memorial. In school I was studying Thomas Jefferson for a project. His memorial looked like his house,the Monticello! Hundreds of people were talking, taking pictures and were inspecting his statue. I went a took some photos. There was a little place that said "information" so I went inside it. I found out that the Jefferson memorial was a National Park!!
I was so mad that I didn't bring my stamp book so I left. Soon we went home.

    Basketball is one of my favorite sports. I usually play with my dad or with my friends.  One day my friends wanted to have a basketball tournament with me so I said yes. The teams were Andrew and I vs. Peter and Angelina. When we just started the game it was 16-8 we were winning by 8 points. We could of got more points if Andrew wasn't a big ball hog. I would pass it to him but he wouldn't pass it to me. When I kept scoring everybody stopped for a break. We were listening to music on Angelina's iPhone 4s. We went back to the game. By the time I finally missed it was 38-19. After a few minutes my team won!!!

   I have going to the park frequently these days. Ether playing tag or kickball. When I was playing freeze tag I only got frozen once during the whole game. When I was playing kickball the scores were 18-17. My team barely won. Freeze tag was easy, all I had to do was dodge people and climb slides. Later everybody would be it at least once except me. We got bored so we played this game called "Goalie". You kick a ball into a goal. Every time you score you say GOAL! Goalies can block the ball to stop you from getting a goal. The number of goalies =how many goals they are.My friend named Adil and I were the goalies. A kid who was in high school named Shama was the kicker. We blocked 88% of the blocks because we used everything that we had. Soon I had to go home

    What a wonderful spring break!!!! Don't you agree!!!

The Black Knight

      Long ago there was a king and a queen named Arthur and Mary. They had two sons, one was a powerful knight named Josh, while the other one named Drake was finding a horse to ride. The king wouldn't let the younger son be a knight because he didn't take things seriously. One day Drake jumped out his window, and ran into the forest. The forest was full of creatures like owls, termites and other insects. Surprisingly he found a black horse. King and queen were to busy training other people that they forgot about their son. Drake trained the horse to only to obey him. Later that day the King and queen noticed that Drake was missing. The king sent Josh to find Drake. Josh came back with nothing but a scrap of Drake's clothing in the woods. With that known the king sent several of his best knights into the forest. Drake rode his horse to a pit. He took large boulders and made a cave. He put vines at the opening so it would be like a door. The cave was large enough to fit his horse, himself and a place to eat and sleep. Drake saw the knights looking for him so he made no noise and went to sleep. Later that day one knight had been killed by a black widow. Drake took the knight's armor that was in perfect condition, found some black ink and spilled ink all over the armor. Then he went to a river to wash the armor. The ink was all over the armor so it wasn't washed away. When he took the armor out of the river he smelt the armor. The armor didn't smell like ink any more so he the armor. After that he buried the man and ran back to his cave. The king and queen assumed Drake was dead. They threw a sword into the forest to protect himself if he was still alive. Drake found the sword. It was a black sword that had black gems on the hilt. He found a rock shaped like a shield. He took the rock and placed a little handle made out of extra chains from his armor. He also spilled ink over the shield and washed it in a river. He rode his horse around the forest and heard that other knights were going to attack Camelot. He put on his helmet and made armor for his horse with leather he got from cows.  He returned to Camelot and people were screaming for the king. The king came and sent Josh to battle Drake. Drake took of his helmet and everyone in the kingdom was shocked. He told the village that other knights were going to attack the kingdom. The king sent a big line of knights to guard the village. Drake was now a true knight!!! When the other knights came they broke the line of defense. Drake and Josh hid behind the trees. They attacked at the same time... All the other knights fell to the ground!!! The king threw them into the dungeon and Camelot was no longer in danger.  Drake was now nicknamed the black knight. 

The Adventures of Bob!

          One day a baby was walking on the sidewalk with a big bag of newspapers,his name was Bob. He said:"Can I be a president?" A man in the government who was drunk said :"Yes,yes you can." So the baby was on the democrat side of the debate. Everybody laughed and voted for another candidate named Bob. When the announcer said the winner was Bob the baby Bob and the man Bob came up. The baby said goo goo ga goo goo ga and the man Bob got irritated. So then the baby started to make commercials, in each commercial he said "Vot or me!" During the presidential debate he said "Wa?" so much that the republican,(The guy who lost Obama) Mitt Romney  was going to jump off a cliff. A bunch of people were mad because a baby was going to be a president! Everybody sprayed themselves in perfume in Russia while the baby president looked at an asteroid that was going to hit Russia. Eventually only Bob survived an he became president. Soon he had one catchphrase: Taste is king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People hated that catchphrase so they never went to Burger King. Eventually a chicken witch made a spell and poured it into Bob's milk. He drank the milk and started to float into outer space. He chocked out all the air he had in himself. Finally the people were so happy he DIED. :{}

"Fall Day"

       Ever went skiing and fell? Well I fell multiple times while skiing at Liberty Mountain on Saturday. The trials I fell on were Lower Eastwind (a blue trail), Whitney's Way (also a blue trail) and White Lighting (a black trail). I will tell you what happened.

     When I was on Lower Eastwind I fell like twenty times. It was really hard because I was skiing on moguls. There were ditches, big bumps and small rocks. One of my friends Jerry was there to help me. He helped a lot but I still fell and had to slide down the hill. Sometimes my skis got stuck and I fell. When I fell it was to painful to move. It hurt so much that Jerry had to take of one off my skis so I could get up. I got a little better at skiing on moguls before skiing on them. When we reached the lift we decided to go to White Lighting.

     White Lighting is a black trail but it is very easy for me and Jerry. We got down the trail no time but I fell because someone else crashed into me. It took me approximately three minutes and forty-eight seconds to get up because I had to get the person off of me so I could ski down the trail. Eventually I got of the trail and stopped skiing.

     Want to know how all this "Fall Day" stuff happened. Well m dad and
  I were skiing down a trail called Whitney's Way. We skied on that trail for several times. The snow had so many bumps that every time I skied on that trial I fell. Then I went and told my dad that today was "Fall Day" for me because I fell a lot. I kept falling so that day wasn't a very good ski day.

    If you ski try not to fall. Don't perform tricks if you are just a beginner. Only do the trails that are your level. Ski safe!!!!!!!!! 

Air Bud

            Have you ever watched the movie Air Bud? Well I watched it at school after a long test called the MSA! It is about a dog named Buddy who plays in a high school soccer league, has puppies and becomes the goalie for the American team in the World Cup.

             When the first day of school started, Buddy came on the field and became one of the soccer players. Other teams didn't like the idea of letting a dog playing in the league so they told the coach of the dog's team that his team would be banded or that the dog would be banded. The coach made the whole team banded because Buddy was one of the team's best players. Suddenly a player on a different team made the team come back by persuading other teams why shouldn't a team have a dog. Luckily the team gets put back into the league. 


              Soon Buddy finds a mate and gets his own puppies. They get stolen by people who want to sell them and get rich. Soon Buddy's owner gets a dog whistle and hundreds of dogs come and surround the kidnappers. One of the kidnappers were innocent because the other kidnapper told him he would get a dog if he worked for him but it ended up being a lie. Buddy was late for the championships! The innocent kidnapper drove them to the stadium so quickly that even some parts of his rusty truck fell. Buddy's team ended up winning the league.

           Four months later Buddy was the American team's goalie in the World Cup. Norway was almost at the goal... The Norway player kicks it! Buddy jumps up and hits the ball with his head. The Americans have won!!!

              

Going Skiing on the Top of Liberty Mountain

        Imagine, you were standing on the top of a huge hill... What would you do? I was that person and I skied down the hill. I had to get on a very long lift, go to the top of the mountain and ski on a black diamond obstacle course.  

     The lift I was going on was the called the Alpine lift. I went on it once so I know what it feels like to be on the lift. You usually have to wait in a long line to get on the lift unless it's night time. When it your turn to go you have to lean on this pad. Moments later the pad moves aside and you ski onto a conveyor belt, then a chair comes and picks you up. I think it is the easiest lift to get on because you just have to lean. When you get on the lift it is super long but the speed is really fast. There's a stop a the middle which I call the obstacle course. You have to get off quick or you will have to ski to the top. If you look on the ground when your almost at the top you will see no snow below you. When it's time to get of the lift I have to lean forward a little bit so my skis can touch the ground. 

      When your at the top of the whole entire mountain you can ski on a bunch of different trails. Some of them are cliffs, while others are just a slope that is very steep. On some trails even take you to the back of the mountain addressed the "South Pole." The lifts behind the mountain are very bumpy. They shake in midair so it is uncomfortable. I always go on the blue or green trails on the top of the mountain so I don't fall as much as I do on the double black diamond ones. If you go down a trail called Dipsy Doodle you can see other kids snow tubing.

      If you stop in the middle of the lift you will go to the obstacle course. There are jumps, planks and other obstacles that you can ski on. Once I accidentally hit the side of a jump and flipped over. I went on a plank but I fell off because it was too thin for my skis. When I tried to do a jump, I landed falling. People crashed onto me so I had to move away. I don't think I will try that thing again!

     I got to do a bunch of things is one trip. Going on a long lift,skiing on the top of the mountain and going on a obstacle course. What a great day!!!

Chinese New Year Party (one week after)

            One week after the Chinese new year we had another party. It was at my friend Michael's house.They lived in Great Falls,VA. We jumped on a trampoline, played Dragonvale and watched TV.

        When I got to Michael's house we went down stairs and waited for another Michael to come. We made this game called popcorn. One person has to curl up into a ball and the others jump on the trampoline trying to make the "popcorn" open up. We played that for a long time until we got tired of jumping.

        Michael went upstairs and got his iPad so we could play with it. His iPad was very boring except for one game.... Dragonvale. He showed us his park then I asked him if I could show him my park. He said yes and I showed them my park. When we switched it back something bad happened and he had to start all over again. He cried for a long time and I got him to level 8 in five minutes. He thanked me and we closed the iPad and watched TV.

       When we were watching TV we saw TUFF Puppy, Fairly Odd Parents and Planet Sheen. Nobody liked Planet Sheen because it was to crazy and weird. We all liked Fairly Odd Parents but I already saw the shows twice. Whenever TUFF Puppy came up I watched some of it and went to got bounce on the trampoline. We watched TV until 11 o'clock because everybody had to leave.

       When I got home it was 12 o'clock! What a long and fun party!  

           

Chinese New Year Party (2013)

          On the night before the Chinese new year my family and I went to my friend's house for a party. We had a war with Nerf guns,played Minecraft and partied with androids. 

          When I got to my friend's house there was a huge war between seven 1st-2nd graders vs. one 6th grader. I helped the 6th grader by shooting the smaller kids with a long strike. Then the 6th grader (Alex) and I went upstairs and hid for a long time. When the smaller kids found us I shot every kid and we won the war.

          Moments later we were all ether playing with an iPod, a smartphone or a tablet. Everybody was playing a game called Subway Surfers. There is a kid named Jake, he sprays graffiti on trains at a train station. An train inspector finds out and chases Jake. You control Jake by swiping. He can jump, roll and move from side to side. Some special power ups are a jet-pack and a hover-board. We got bored playing that game so I found a new game called Cartoon Wars Episode: Blade. You have a stick figure avatar that is stranded on a island. There were also monsters on the island. You can equip two swords and a gun to kill the monsters. One kid in 5th grade beat the game and unlocked most of the weapons.

          Then we watched a kid play Minecraft on his laptop. Every time he saw a zombie he would trap it, then he would start humping it. Every time he did that, all the kids would be laughing like crazy. Also he pushed all the slimes out of the world but they kept on following him so he got irritated. We couldn't help to laugh at him.

          That was a great party! We got to do a lot of things, like me impressing the parents with my piano skills. What a great event in my life!!!

It is Snowing!

                I woke up and looked outside the window, I saw the ground covered with snow! I yelled across the house," It's SNOWING!" I was wondering if it was my lucky day because we have to go to school at 10 o'clock AM!I was so happy I got up brushed my teeth as fast as I could and went down stairs and ate breakfast.

            After that we got ready to go to school. When my sister and I were at the bus stop a lot of people were playing with snowballs and throwing them at each other. They soon got in trouble because it was getting intense. After that people were allowed to play with snow but we were not allowed to throw snow. Some people were making miniature snowmen while other people were throwing snowballs on the ground. Then the bus came and we went to school.

            After school I  finished my homework and went outside to play. I tried to ask all my friends to come outside but they said it was to cold. I was really disappointed because I had no one to play with but I thought of a fabulous idea. I decided to build a snowman! I used my dad's shovel to get some snow for my snowman. I couldn't figure out how to make the second layer of the snowman so I just drew a happy face on my "snowman" and went home. Playing in the snow is fun no matter what!

Going Skiing

            Do you like to ski? Well I do. I went skiing at Liberty Mt. in Pennsylvania. My dad and I are going there every Sunday starting from 1/1/13. We could go other places to ski at like Roundtop and Whitetail. We could choose to take lessons or ski by ourselves because we had Night club cards. We choose to take lessons because it was our first time skiing.

        We had to wait at the ski school meeting place so we could get a coach to train us. There was a lot of first timers so we had to have two groups, an adult group and a children group. Since it was our first time we didn't need to use our poles. The coach told me we were going on the first class trail. At first  I was really excited because on an airplane first class means best quality. But then I found out that here the first class trail was for the first classes.

        You can get up the mountain in four ways. two of the ways to get up the mountain are the " duck walk" and the "side walk." To do the "side walk", you have to make both feet parallel to each other. Then you have to walk up the hill horizontally. To do the "duck walk", you have to make your feet form a straight line. Then you just walk up the hill like that. The other two ways are the lift and the "magic carpet." The "magic carpet is just a flat conveyor belt that takes you up the hill. The lift is a bunch of chairs on a cable that takes you to the top of the hill.

       We had to practice stopping and turning. The two ways I use to stop are making a little wedge shaped a pizza or turning all the way until you stop.  To turn you have to make your skis face the direction you want to turn or you can make the edges of your skis face one way and you will turn. If you keep on turning you will eventually stop.

       When I finished skiing I was really tired so I returned my skis and went home. I hope I come back here because it was a great experience!
