McLean Day

On 5/16/15 I went to the McLean day festival not expecting anything crazy. But when I entered, it just looked like a regular place with tents that had sponsors advertising until you walked in deeper. It was like a carnival, flashing lights, colossal rides, food carts that sold cotton candy, sno-cones, corn dogs, funnel cakes and much more! Sadly though, when I arrived, the festival was already starting to end, people were packing the rides up and walking out of the festival area so I had to make the best out of the situation.

I saw many games that could be played such as those where you try to ring a small ring onto a bottle hoping that you would win. You could just get one ring on a bottle and you would have a stuffed animal that was a titan compared to other stuffed animals. Another game was similar to that one but in this one you have balls and you try to throw them into bottle. If you threw your ball into a cup, you would get the goldfish that was in the cup. Thankfully the goldfishes didn't get squished.

Some rides you could go on were ones that took you high into the air and then dropped you. You could hear the screams of terror as the people on the ride were falling. Another thing you could do was play a shooting game that simulated using real guns. You would have a gun and you would also have a mini paper target. You had to try and hit the middle with the limited amount of ammo you were supplied with. Many rides had flashing lights on the sides so the whole place was colorful. One especially noticeable ride was one that included it spinning repeatedly in a bunch of directions.

I would have more fun here if I didn't come when it was going to end because of my swim practice. At least I saw some cool rides and got a sno-cone.
